Welcome to Season 2, Episode 12 of The Simply Scary Podcast. This episode of our program is hosted by G.M. Danielson.

Tonight’s episode is our third in a series of episodes dedicated to one terrifying author and the fear that they can create. We will be highlighting The Simply Scary Podcast’s staff editor/author, Charlie Davenport, for our feast of fright. His stories will tickle the corners of your minds with horrors that will seem as familiar as they are unsettling. Davenport’s anguished anecdotes will show us the dangers of being considered, “One of Our Own.”

Management written by Charlie Davenport and performed by Jason Hill (narrator/Kyle), featuring Jesse Cornett (Edwards, Management, customers). Production by Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett. We’ve all had that job: the one full of meaningless, mind numbing tasks and soul crushing commutes that threaten to sap you of the last of your internal reservoir of strength and turn you into just another corporate drone.

On Film written by Charlie Davenport and performed by Benjamin Lisman (narrator/Tommy), featuring Heather Ordover (Mom), Jesse Cornett (Jake) and Ashley Tolfo (Ella). Production by Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett. We can all relate to the pain of losing a loved one. When the space that was previously occupied by the warmth of another’s love for you becomes vacant, occasionally something far more sinister can fill that void.

Lil Timmy McGee written by Charlie Davenport and performed by Jason Hill (narrator), featuring Ashley Tolfo (wife), Jesse Cornett (Ethan, Jeff Lewis) and Aiden Ordover (Lil Timmy/Evil Timmy). Production by Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett. In every human life there are seasons. We pass from children, jumping at shadows waiting for us to be left unattended for even a moment, to adulthood when hopefully we can look ourselves in the mirror and convince the person staring back… that there really is nothing to fear.

Big Man written by Charlie Davenport and performed by Brindolyn McNair (narrator/Kayla), Michelle Ragsdale (Amber), Nate Hawkins (Big Man), Benjamin Lisman (Lucas), John Evans (Jacob), Jason Hill (Will), and Otis Jiry (desk clerk). Production by Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett. Many among us spent a good portion of our youth frequenting honkey-tonks, juke joints, speakeasies and bars of this great nation in their youth, searching for a bit of companionship. But the dangers of giving in to your baser instincts are myriad, especially when that companion might have even darker appetites than you yourself.

She Has His Eyes written by Charlie Davenport and performed by Marshall Ragsdale (narrator, Eddie Creelman), featuring Michelle Ragsdale (Abigail Creelman, Rose Gish, Dr. Mathary, Kathy). Production by Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett. Even in the most humdrum and routine of situations, something extraordinary and dark can lurk at the edges.
