Welcome to Season 2, Episode 7 of The Simply Scary Podcast. This episode of our program is hosted by G.M. Danielson.

In the world of concrete facts and hard evidence, we are constantly on the lookout for those who would use the art of distraction to keep our attention on the left hand, so we won’t notice what the right hand is doing. This is not to say that the world does not have its mysteries, but we must recognize that for most instances, there is a perfectly rational explanation… or is there? Our stories will shine a light on that very question as we explore how easy it is for dark forces to manipulate the naive with a bit of “Sleight of Hand.”

The Witches and the Circle” written by Eric Dodd and performed by Jason Hill, featuring Jesse Cornett (Chris), Benjamin Lisman (Pete), Brindolyn McNair (Liz), Eden (Sophia), Ashley Tolfo (Young Female Trick-or-Treater), and Alyssa Karr (Older Female Trick-or-Treater). Production by Felipe Ojeda and Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett. Our first journey puts us in the company of five friends who engage in a bit of fun with a Halloween séance. They realize very quickly that what they perceive as simple games are far different when played with those on the other side.  DOWNLOAD THIS STORY NOW (MP3)

Memories of New Years” written by Malcolm Teller, and performed by David Tyson, featuring Eden (Rachel), Brindolyn McNair (Jenny), and Luke Fischer (Ryan). Production by Chazz Ravenelle and Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett. The memories of a childhood fraught with pain and turmoil were softened by the connection these four friends developed. Together they were stronger than any of the forces that harmed them individually. But when they reunite, a darkness that was awakened years ago beckons them to return to the strangely hazy memories of their childhood and they are powerless to resist the response to that call.  DOWNLOAD THIS STORY NOW (MP3)

The Magician” written by William Purdom, performed by Peter Bishop, featuring Jesse Cornett (The Thief, The Kidnapper) and Kyra Greif (Little Girl). Production by Christopher Rowe and Jesse Cornett. Score by Jesse Cornett.  In our final tome, we offer a story about redemption. A failed Magician turns his abilities to a life of crime, but when his latest enterprise turns out to be more than he bargained for. He is faced with a choice of continuing his downward spiral or risking it all to become something more.  DOWNLOAD THIS STORY NOW (MP3)
